The yearly occasion called Iwag Festival began 13 years ago, and this is by far the longest-running Christmas event held on this side of Iloilo. Central Philippine University (CPU) welcomes the yuletide season with its lovely opening of lights every first week of December. The event is all about merry festivities and a joyous December celebration from there on out. The event is open to everyone to witness the lighting of the whole campus, and students get to showcase their talents to entertain the crowd. 

The Angelicum School / Lizares Mansion – Jaro, Iloilo City

Christmas at The Angelicum School at Tabuc Suba, Jaro, Iloilo City marks each celebration with the lighting up of hundreds of festive lights lining the facade of the Lizares Mansion. Flocked to by both locals and tourists, its yearly display of lights does not disappoint as they are all striking and pleasing to the eyes. The Christmas carols filling the air are also something to appreciate.

Camella Savannah Christmas Lighting

Homeowners and visitors gather at the main entrance of Camella Savannah—a 500-hectare master-planned community in Iloilo City—to witness its Christmas Lighting every last week of November. The event is filled with happiness with their exciting program for the kids and kids-at-heart. 

For years and years, Iloilo has been famous, among its residents and tourists, for the various activities that happen all year round. But the most notable of these events take place during the holiday season when many of the province’s famous towns and historic buildings come to life upon the lighting of hundreds and hundreds of Christmas lights.
