11 Easy Steps To Make Your Day Great

Starting your day right is your best bet for a successful and happy day. Every day is an opportunity to live our life to the fullest, to reach our goals, and be one step closer to becoming the person that we want to be. However, there are times that our hectic daily agendas get in the way of having a good start. We tend to think of our heavy responsibilities first before our day actually begins.

So today, we encourage you to take a moment to just free your mind from anything that will create a busy and anxious atmosphere. Set aside your worries, appreciate your surroundings, and have some time to just unwind.

Here are the simple steps to keep your cool and your mood in check.

Get up a few minutes early

Allowing yourself more time to plan in the morning rather than going through your everyday routine will help set a less stressful tone for the rest of the day. You will thank yourself later if you get up and give yourself an extra 15 minutes to ensure you do not miss anything.

Do mindfulness exercise

This is the foremost beneficial thing you can do for your health. Exercising makes you feel better by improving your mood and energy levels, lessening depression and anxiety, and boosting your self-esteem. Find a way to exercise by doing activities that you enjoy, such as biking, hiking, yoga, taking a brisk walk, dancing, and swimming. By doing so, you will feel motivated every single day.

Eat a balanced diet

After you finish exercising, it is important that you fuel your body with healthy and nutritious food. Having a well-balanced diet is important for good health and can make you feel your best. Reaching and maintaining a healthy body weight involves eating a wide range of foods in the right proportions and drinking the right quantity of food and drink. Eat nutritious food high in protein, good carbohydrates, and healthy fats.

Write a to-do list

Examine your to-do list and estimate how much time each task will take. Allow time for breaks between tasks. Put the most important tasks on top of your list, then complete them first. Postpone anything you would not be able to do the next day. Check off tasks as you complete them! It will definitely give you a sense of accomplishment.

Work on one thing at a time

Multitasking slows you down and can cause stress. So it is better to focus on one task at a time to have a more productive workday. Break down difficult tasks into simple steps, and write each one down on your to-do list.

Wake up your mind

Reading something interesting is the quickest way to wake up your mind. Instead of reading something on a screen, read it on paper. With this, you will be able to focus better and absorb more information. Consider reading a Filipino Blog post novel, a collection of poems, a graphic novel, or a young adult novel. Let yourself be lost in the texts.

Listen to music

If you are keen on taking note of music, you are in good company. Music can enhance other healthy lifestyle habits, such as adding a sense of calm to a yoga workout, putting a spring in your step on a morning walk, or stimulating your mind while writing in your journal.

Do not forget to smile

Smiling has been shown to increase our positivity and make us feel happier. Even if you fake a smile, it has the same positive effect as a genuine one. If you can try to smile as much as possible, you will feel a lot better. Smiling can help you appear and feel more positive, increasing your chances of having a good day. When you see other people smiling, it is almost contagious and can benefit you and others around you.

Think positively

Grumpy in the morning? The first thing you think when you wake up sets the tone for the rest of your day. Attract everything that you want, whether it is that dream vacation or that dream house and lot after you save up. Think positively and act as if today will be a good day, and it is going to be a step towards those goals. Pretend to be ecstatic, and you will start to believe and do it.

Let go of negative thoughts

If you are having trouble concentrating, take a moment to consider what is on your mind. Is there anything that you are deeply concerned about? If it is something you do need to address, write it down in your calendar as a task to be done at a specific time. If it is something that cannot be solved right now, consider writing about it in a journal and then moving on to something else.

Set yourself up to sleep through the night

Nothing beats a good night’s sleep for lifting your spirits. Adults require 7-8 hours of sleep per night, while adolescents require 9-11 hours. Sleep in a dark, quiet room if you want to sleep through the night. Use the restroom before going to bed to improve your chances of sleeping through the night without any distraction of having to pee in the wee hours.

You may already have an everyday routine in place. But if you still do not have one, you can do some of these essential tips to help you get started. Consider what you know about yourself, your routines, and your personality when deciding what works best for you.
